Information is being spread online, citing Polish media, that Polish doctors will soon arrive in Ukraine, allegedly to participate in combat operations.

«In Konin County, a document was signed to send doctors to the war zone. The first group of 15 doctors will go to Ukraine in the near future,» some netizens wrote.

The publications note that the doctors will go to Ukraine «not of their own free will,» but are being sent to the combat zone by order of the commissariat.

The source of these reports is the piece in the local media of the Konin County konin24.info Oficjalnie: polscy lekarze jadą Ukrainę! of June 12.

In turn, konin24.info cited a statement by the deputy head of the Konin Poviat Council, Janusz Stankiewicz, who said on his Facebook page that the program to send Polish doctors to Ukraine had entered into force. The official also published a letter from Katarzyna Fryza, head of the Konin District Council, to Adam Nawrocki, head of the Military Recruitment Center in Konin, which reveals the details of this program.

The report that Polish doctors are being sent to Ukraine to allegedly take part in hostilities is not true. In fact, a group of Polish doctors, including specialists in anesthesiology, surgery, rheumatology and medical rehabilitation, will arrive in the frontline area for training purposes. The letter states that Polish doctors will «improve their knowledge, skills and professional competencies» while working in frontline stabilization centers as part of their postgraduate education.

The news of the training program for Polish doctors in Ukraine was also commented on by Lieutenant Colonel Adam Nawrocki, head of the Konin military enlistment office, on his Facebook page.

«Doctors, nurses and other medical personnel are on guard for the health of our country’s residents. At such a turbulent time for our country, when there is a war on our borders, we must pay special attention to their training. I am convinced that this initiative will make an invaluable contribution to the development of their professional competencies, so that the life of every Pole in the event of a real threat from Russia is in safe hands. I wish our doctors success in serving their country and personal prosperitywrote Adam Nawrocki.
