This video has been spreading online since at least June 2022. It was filmed in Donbas and has nothing to do with the Armed Forces operation in the Kursk region. 

Pro-Russian Telegram channels and some netizens are actively disseminating a video showing Russian soldiers allegedly capturing Ukrainian soldiers in the Kursk region. Numerous publications state that Russian forces have managed to capture dozens of Ukrainian soldiers. 

This video began to spread rapidly on Saturday, August 10, after it was published on the Telegram channel of the well-known propaganda talk show 60 Minutes (Russia-1 TV channel).

Using a reverse image search on Google, StopFake journalists found that this video has been circulating online since at least June 2022 and has nothing to do with the operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region of Russia. 

On June 8, 2022, a screenshot from this video was published on Reddit, where a similar Ukrainian soldier can be seen. The publication says that the soldier was captured in Lyman, Donetsk region. 

After checking publications on pro-Russian Telegram channels during the specified period of time, StopFake journalists managed to find the original video. The so-called Z-channels on Telegram started spreading this video on June 7, 2022. The description of the video states that it was filmed in Donbas.
