This media did not publish such a video, it was fabricated by propagandists. There is no evidence of such a bill or initiative existing.
Propaganda sources report that the financial reward for contract servicemen aged 19 to 21 will be doubled: it will now amount to 400,000 hryvnias. Such news was supposedly published by «Ukrainska Pravda». The video also includes a «quote» from the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, who explains this decision by the desire to create additional motivation to serve for this particular age group. «In other words, literally yesterday’s schoolchildren will be slaughtered,» the propagandists draw a grim conclusion.
However, this message is not true. First of all, the news presented an incorrect generalization regarding the monetary compensation of contract servicemen: the amount depends on the military rank, experience, the secrecy regime and a number of other factors. This already indicates that the text for the video was written by a person who is not well versed in the topic. Thus, we reviewed the social networks of the media «Ukrainska Pravda» and searched on their website using keywords and found that the media did not publish such news. Moreover, «Ukrainska Pravda» does not produce news clips in this style at all. On the other hand, the story shared on the network is visually very similar to other fake videos of Russian propaganda, which we have repeatedly refuted in previous articles (in particular, 1, 2 and 3). There is no mention of such an innovation in the list of draft laws on the website of the Verkhovna Rada; not a single Ukrainian-language publication wrote about the initiative. A search for Ruslan Stefanchuk’s «quote» on the Internet also yielded no results, which gives every reason to consider this news another provocation of Russian propaganda.
