The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has not made such statements. Russia is committing a number of alleged war crimes in Ukraine, including strikes on Ukrainian civilian objects.

Pro-Kremlin media have been spreading disinformation about the «high accuracy» of air strikes on Ukraine. Manipulating an article by the Financial Times, Russian media claimed that Ukraine had confirmed the «accuracy of Russian attacks» that Russia allegedly carried out «on the positions of the Ukrainian military.» Russian media also once again claimed that Ukraine was «blackmailing the West for weapons.»

The Russian disinformation is based on an article by the Financial Times about glide bombs that Russia is actively using in the war against Ukraine. The article reports that such Soviet-made bombs are dropped from Su-34 and Su-35 aircraft directly on targets.

«The Russian air force is stepping up its use of Soviet-era weapons that have been retrofitted for 21st-century warfare and are pounding Ukrainian forces, pulverising towns and giving Moscow an advantage on the battlefield… By adding cheap pop-out wings and a satellite navigation system, these former ‘dumb bombs’ can now be launched by Russian bombers deep behind the front line and out of reach of Ukraine’s air-defence systems,» the article says.

The article quotes the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, who said that Russia is actively using these bombs to destroy the positions of the Ukrainian military, and the only way to protect against the shells is to shoot down the bomber carrying the bomb.

«Yet to achieve that, Ukraine needs significantly more modern air defence systems,» the FT article emphasizes.

At the same time, the FT article refutes the Russian myth about the «high accuracy» of Russian strikes on Ukraine. The article mentions that Russia uses glide bombs against civilians, and provides a specific example: On March 27, 2024, the occupiers shelled Kharkiv with such bombs, which led to significant damage to residential buildings and civilian casualties, including small children.

The author also reminds that in March 2024, Russia additionally fired hundreds of cruise and ballistic missiles, kamikaze drones at Ukrainian energy facilities and civilian infrastructure. Therefore, all of Russia’s claims about the «high-precision» of its strikes are absolute fake news.

Under international law, Russian air attacks on Ukraine can be regarded as war crimes that have no statute of limitations and fall under the jurisdiction of courts around the world. In this context, on March 5, 2024, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Russian long-range aviation commander Sergei Kobylash and Viktor Sokolov, who was then in command of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.
According to the ICC, each of them is likely responsible for war crimes, which consist of strikes on civilian objects in Ukraine, as well as crimes against humanity, which consist of inhumane actions of the occupiers against civilians in Ukraine.
