Nestle denied the information about resuming the production of KitKat bars in Russia.
It is widely claimed online that the Swiss corporation Nestle is allegedly going to resume the production of KitKat bars in Russia, specifically at the factory in Perm. The publications say that the product will return to the shelves of Russian stores already in the fall.
Nestle’s return to the Russian market caused a wide response among consumers. Many expressed the hope that the quality of products will remain at the usual high level and that the resumption of production will have a positive effect on the range and availability of their favorite sweets, some Russian mass media write.

Despite numerous publications online, this information is not available on the company’s official resources, including the website of their Russian representative office.
The original source of this information, as it turned out, was the Russian site Tsargrad, which regularly spreads disinformation. In its publication dated July 22, the publication wrote that an anonymous source allegedly informed them about the KitKat chocolate returning to Russia.

However, these reports are not true. The press service of Nestle Russia in a comment to several Russian information sources denied the information about returning the KitKat bars production to Russia. Company representatives said that KitKat production is still suspended in the country.
StopFake also reached out to the company’s press office for comment, but had not yet received a response at the time of publication.
As a reminder, in March 2022, Nestle suspended capital investments in Russia due to its invasion of Ukraine, but did not leave the Russian market. The company said it will minimize operations in Russia to the sale of basic products such as baby and special medical nutrition. In particular, KitKat bars and Nesquik cocoa disappeared from the shelves.
Previously, StopFake refuted disinformation that anti-Russian sanctions destroyed Ukraine’s economy.
