Both the boy himself and his close circle refuted this information. In addition, the young man is still a minor, so he could not possibly end up in the military.

Pro-Russian sources report that a boy who seven years ago appeared in a promotional video for the children’s military-patriotic camp Azovets died in the war. The camp was founded on the initiative of the leader of the National Corps, the first commander of AZOV Andriy Biletskyi. It educates children from 8 to 16 years old on the principles of patriotism, and teaches the basics of military training such as rock climbing, robotics, pre-medical assistance, and Ukrainian history. At that time, the Kremlin media compared the boy with the main character of the movie  «Jojo Rabbit» about Nazi Germany, so it is not surprising that now they maliciously present the boy’s «death» as a natural result of «Ukrainian Nazi propaganda.»

However, the young man in the photo and the guy from the video about “Azovets” are completely different people. Roman Zhytynskyi, tthe guy in the video, is alive and not even a serviceman, as he is not yet 18 years old. This was confirmed by those close to him – for example, Volodymyr Lut, an employee of Lviv Plast, who stated that Roman was in their camp only a few weeks ago, and that he had just turned 15 years old, which completely contradicts the story invented by propagandists. Moreover, Zhytinsky himself also confirmed on social media that he is alive, and also noted that rumors of his death have surfaced before. A few weeks ago, Roman shared photos that once again prove that the young man is a minor, lives a civilian life and does not look like the man in the photo at all.
Recently, StopFake refuted similar disinformation about a dead soldier in the article Fake: Ukrainian Soldier Dead at Only 16 Years Old.
