The First Lady canceled only one of the events planned during her trip to Slovenia. She did not comment on the reasons for this decision.

Pro-Russian sources are spreading news that Ukraine’s First Lady, Olena Zelenska, was allegedly forced to cancel a lecture at the Ljubljana University due to mass protests by local residents against «Ukrainian Nazism».

However, this news distorts the facts. In reality, a screenshot from the Slovenian media STA, with which propagandists illustrated the news, states that the reasons for the cancellation of the lecture at the Social Sciences Faculty of the Ljubljana University are unknown. Despite the fact that this particular event could not be held, Olena Zelenska met with the teachers and the university administration. During the meeting, the rector of the educational institution, Gregor Majdych, officially announced the creation of a department of Ukrainian studies at the university. In addition, the Architecture Faculty of the Ljubljana University will actively cooperate with the V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, providing support in the reconstruction of damaged buildings.

Also during the visit, Olena Zelenska handed over books to the National University Library as part of the «Ukrainian Bookshelf» project. It was there that one pro-Russian protester appeared, shouting «The war must end» and «Russia will win» in English. The man was detained by the police. Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob commented on the incident: he stated that such «unacceptable behavior» should have no place in modern society.
